Nielsen released new report on smartphone, the latest news, Android's smartphone had a sizable lead, powering just under 42% of smartphones sold, while Apple had cornered a more than respectable 28% of the market. In the few last weeks, Android has seen its share grow to 43%. More interestingly, more than 25,000 surveyed who had purchased a smartphone in the last three months, a whopping 56% chose to go with the Android. Apple held a steady 28% across the board. More important than choice of platform though, is that smartphone sales in general are climbing -- accounting for 58% of all handsets sold in August and driving smartphone penetration to 43%.

According to the second quarter of the year, HTC, Motorola, and Samsung claim the top three spots in China’s Android handset market, according to a report analyze by a Chinese app analytics company. The big three hold-up to 65% market share together. We have a Taiwan company, U.S. company and a Korea company dominant the Chinese market. While for the Chinese manufacturers, Huawei, Meizu, Lenovo and ZTE are the best four, but only hold-up to a 22% market share in total. Surprisingly, Meizu, the company who well-known for copying Apple iPhone, has gained a higher market share then the big Lenovo. According to the lastest report coming out of BGR, a source has claimed that Google will bump up the ship date of Android’s next generation and its accompanying Phones in an effort to better combat the release of the iPhone 5. We could see Android Ice Cream Sandwich Phones as early as October, creating an appealing option for owners of the first Motorola Droid with two-year contracts conveniently up for renewal around the same time. One of the first devices to run the next iteration of Android could be a next-gen Nexus model, though all is merely rumors and speculation at this point.

According to June data from Nielsen, Google’s Android operating system (OS) now claims the largest share of the U.S. consumer smartphone market with 39 percent. Apple’s iOS is in second place with 28 percent, while RIM Blackberry is down to 20 percent.

It's high time we talk about the way we act and represent ourselves, both here at Android Sale and across the intertubes. Cruise through any smartphone forums or blog comments, and you'll soon see a common theme. We like to argue, sometimes to the point of acting the fool. I'll admit -- I can get a bit snarky, and have probably caused an admin or two more trouble than I should, so I'm not pointing fingers at anyone in particular. But I can bet that anytime I'm reading a story about LTE, I'll see people digging about price or downtime. Or if it's about the EVO 3D, I'll read how Sprint's coverage "sucks."
